week13-14

Firtsly the most striking fact that comes on my mind is that we have arrived to the last week and the end of the drawing prohect.
I would sum up this semester and the advancements I suppose I went through and my general feelings about this subject.

Personally I guess I went through a process of getting to know how an artist works in his workshop via experiencing the class atmosphere but not the individual intetntions of making the piece of work. ( but those intetntions may be transmitted later on the art lessions, when learning in deeper dimensions about an artist) However seeing and feeling the conditions in which the artist works was useful, in observing the techniques and probably recognising them in the future. Why the artist does it so and what effect he/she reaches through it.

As for the topics I consider them to be life like as we did the autumn subjects (at autumn time:) and the live model, via studiing parts of the body how it should be drawn.
As for the last part she, our live model, was the most challangning and toughest part, but I do say that it was good to have her besides our 'voluntary'class-mate modells.

So by now I guess the basic things in me are there to understand why an artist drew something as the artist does and not the other way, as I've also explored some rules in drawing which I didn't even think to exist before. For example the depth of anatomy-knowledge required for human portraits and the proper knowledge of other objects.

So all in all I would like to say thank you for Mr. Herman for transmitting this knowledge and I guess it was worth doing because of it.
